Building a Robust AP Program for Now and for the Future

Participants will explore AP Potential, a free, Web-based tool that allows schools to generate rosters of students who are likely to score a 3 or higher on a given AP® Exam based on their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 8/9, PSAT™ 10, or SAT. This session will also look at the enhanced resources on the horizon for 2019.

Book clubs are an interesting way to incorporate reading in the upper level language classroom. Join us as we explore ideas for using book clubs to encourage reading comprehension, speaking, and writing in the target language. This presentation will outline guidelines for incorporating book clubs in the classroom. It will include ideas for books, formative and summative assessment rubrics, speaking and writing prompts, final project ideas and rubrics, and some fun examples.

Using Ed Tech to Construct Knowledge in (AP) Biology

Learn how a variety of simple Ed Tech tools can help your Biology / AP Biology students construct knowledge by having them create, make and produce to achieve better understanding. Activities may include digital posters, diplaying lab results, stop-motion movies describing DNA replication, videos detailing operons, digital comic strips illustrating the immune system, animated action potentional models, digital drawings of topics such as prezygotic factors, founder effect and water flow. Activities can be adapted between AP biology and entry-level biology course.)
