Prof. Adams' wide-ranging presentation will include: some of the ways in which artificial intelligence, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, and similar technologies will disrupt life as we know it; U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Employment Projections for the next decade; recent computer science curriculum initiatives from the College Board and the National Computer Science Teachers Association; "CS for All" and similar movements that seek to increase the participation of K-12 students from under-represented groups in order to democratize access to computing careers; and the plethora of educational tools available to help K-12 teachers prepare their students to be technology creators, rather than just consumers.
